In August 2020, with emergency funding from Arts Council England, b.supreme devised and produced Queen’s Speech – A competition for groups to create and submit a new piece of choreography from the comfort of their own homes. The concept aimed to provide a creative outlet while the world was in the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic and all participants were asked to be shot in their own screens in line with social distancing. Original music was commissioned by Indamusic and allocated at random.
Groups from India, USA, Russia, Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy, UK and Hungry entered.
The winning group – UK based ‘Aim Collective’ – won £1000 cash.
b.supreme plan to develop the concept further across different art forms, supporting and championing women in the arts. Continuing to share women’s creative voices or – SPEECH.
